Each student will create a sampler wall hanging of basic stitches. The classes will become a prerequisite for enrolling in more advanced classes to be offered in the future.
The cost is $175 per person. Materials provided: a 12"x15" frame loom, shuttle, shed stick, beater and needles become the property of each student. A selection of yarn also will be provided. However, with the approval of the teacher, personal yarn may be used of is of similar weight, of five complementary colors and not mohair.
The instructor Shirah Miriam "Mimi" Aumann has 30 years of experience, having started in the old city of Jerusalem in Israel. She moved to Springfield in the late 80s and pursued a program of weaving with Harriet Mears of the Drury Weaving School. She is now an adjunct instructor at Drury.
